(More customer reviews)I have been comparing all sorts of clamps, and these stand out as a good quality, low cost compromise.It looks like they do not come with the rubber clamping pads when you buy them here at Amazon, so I would suggest buying that extra (if you can find it), or buying these clamps somewhere else (I bought mine at Woodcraft).The design of the pads is the best feature of this clamp.The upper pad is shaped in a way where it "hugs" the cast body of the clamp; it will not fall off when you're in the middle of clamping something.The lower pad is the usual tight fitting one.The handle is great (rubbery plastic).
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the ratcheting action (moving the lower part of the clamp) could be smoother.
But, bottom line:spend $2 more than what you would for the el-cheapo and get this clamp!You won't regret it.(But make sure you get pads!)
