(More customer reviews)This is a low end, general purpose clamp. My rating of three stars is due to the overall "acceptable" fit and finish of the clamp. The versatility of reversible jaws is nice, but on such a small clamp it is nearly useless. Why the front jaw is not fixed is beyond me, and the manufacturer's claim of 1,000 pounds of clamping force is suspicious to me (Bessey K-Body clamps attain that much force, compare them to this thing). I wasn't expecting much for having paid just under six bucks, I got these just to have since small clamps always come in handy. However, I like to write honest reviews non the less. This item is made in China.

PS, one of mine was missing the little plastic clip at the end so I guess I'll have to be careful not to open it all the way or the jaw will fall off. Not worth the trouble to exchange.

Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRD46CK 3/8-Inch VSR Clutch Driver Review

(More customer reviews)I recently picked up this Ryobi driver / drill to replace an aging Craftsman that was put to use permanently mounted to a drill press adapter. I love the power, the tool free chuck, and the variable clutch. A couple of wood screws set into counter sinks gave me a feel for how the clutch works, and I can set it to drive and seat wood screws right where I want them and have the clutch release when it should. The housing is mostly plastic, but that is to be expected of any power drill made within the last 30 years. The plastics chosen for the housing are very impact resistant, and the rubberized grip feels good in the hand and reduces vibration very well. The overall balance of the drill is very good. I rated this drill a 4 star instead of a 5 as it was missing a MAJOR feature I expect to see in a driver / drill which is a top and an end level. I'd like to know if I have the drill bit going in straight! Other than this shortcoming, this drill is every bit of as good of a drill as can be expected for a drill of it's type. If it isn't powerful enough, you might SERIOUSLY consider a 1/2" hammer drill instead!

(More customer reviews)Man I hate being the first to review anything. First I can see from the numbers and percentages that many of these are being purchased. I had serious reservations mainly due to the cost, after all its a freakin screwdriver. I had a black and decker that lasted a long time and it came time to replace the battery and it was the same price as the driver so that was just stupid. I have other good cordless stuff like dewalt and makita. Dewalt does not have any ion drivers so that was out. The one driver dewalt has weighs like 80 pounds or so it looks. I purchased the single speed white ion Makita thinking that would do the trick, but no. The RPM are so high it was like a drill all the time, great build and torque though. This one while costing out the butt seems to fill the bill. It has half the torque of the white one but at least it can be controlled. The settings for torque are nice so you dont strip out delicate screws like in electronic stuff. The one thing I wish it had was the led light should stay on for a few seconds after being activated like the other makita tools. This one is just an on and off switch. Oh well what do you want for a hundren and eighty bucks huh. I still cant get over that fact. Oh well its done and it works and it will last a long time.

DEWALT DC970K-2 18-Volt Drill/Driver Kit Review

(More customer reviews)An excellent drill for those looking to spend about $70-90.While this drill seems expensive for a 9.6V model keep in mind it works as hard as similar priced 12V models.It is definitely a professional quality product.However, it does fall into that range where for a bit more money you get a 12V+ professional quality drill with more power and battery life.At a similar price point you get a 12V+ consumer drill that isn't really more powerful, is definitely bigger but offers better battery life.

I own the previous version of this drill, the DW926.The DW926 and the DC750 are the same but for the rubber grip surface and the great addition of a one handed chuck.

What's great about this drill?Well despite being small and light, it's reasonably powerful.I have had several cordless drills including this one, a DeWalt DC727 12V, Makita D6011 12V (the old school Makita cordless stick battery drill) and a Sears 12V ~$80 model (2 speed gearbox, not a super cheap 1 speed).

The little DeWalt has the about the same torque (200 in-lb) as my 12V Makita (234) or my Sears (225).Mind you it's not nearly as strong as my 12V DeWalt (350).At the same time the DeWalt is quite a bit more compact than the Sears or Makita models.

More volts doesn't always mean more power!Many people assume that battery voltage equates to how much power a drill has.That's just not true.It's more complex that that.Needless to say you can advertise big voltage and still have no power to speak of.Look at some of the cheap Black and Deckers (the maker of DeWalt) for examples of lots of volts but no torque.

So it can work just as hard as many of the consumer grade 12V models (harder than many 1 speed models).So what's the down side?

Well costs to some degree.If you can get this drill for say $70-90 it's good buy because the competing "home use" drills just aren't any more powerful.However, once you get to around $100+ the 12V+ models intended for contractors from DeWalt and other brands offer yet more power and in the case of DeWalt's own DC727 little increase in size or weight.

Battery life (the start that shines twice as bright...):Remember when I said this 9.6V was just as powerful as many home use type 12V drills like my Sears drill?Well there is a price you pay in battery life.The drill clearly trades battery life for power.My 12V Sears isn't really any more powerful but it lasts a lot longer on one battery.The DeWalt does come with two batteries but you may still use them faster than you charge them.So while this drill will work just as hard as a 12V or even some cheaper 14.4V drills it will run out of juice faster.That might give you pause if you are thinking about screwing in deck screws all afternoon.

In the end I really like the DC750.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this drill for medium duty jobs so long as the limited battery life isn't an issue.Otherwise I might suggest looking for a DC727.However, I would also suggest buyers consider stepping up to a 12V DeWalt for the extra battery life and power with little size increase or looking at something like the Sears 12V-14.4V line of home use drills.They are larger, chunkier, and hardly more powerful in the 12V case but they do have better battery life.Still, the DC750 a great little drill.

This Milwaukee will drive those self-drilling screws all day long with all the torque you need. Just tapping the trigger you can feel the tool try to spin in your hand. Ofcourse this is a corded tool that requires extention cords but I feel that the power and endless run time make it worth dragging a cord around the job site. I recommend also getting a set of magnetic hex shank drivers to keep the fastners in place for vertical applications

Gerber 22-01506 Clutch Mini Pliers Keychain Tool, Special Ops Gray Review

(More customer reviews)I like the way the Clutch looks -- the dark finish, and the holes that give it a techno flair.However, be forewarned that the edges of the darker finish wear to reveal the steel underneath, so it won't look new for long.I personally don't think it's too big to use on a keychain, although it is bigger than some such tools.

Open it, and you have a decent pair of pliers, spring-loaded to open when you are not actively closing them.Mind you, this is a mini-tool, so the jaws are small; at the point most likely to break (where the circular arc cuts deepest), the cross-section of each jaw is 1/8 by 1/8 inch.I'm sure if you get carried away, bearing down hard and twisting, you can break this thing, but it is enough to be useful in many situations.There is a small wire-cutter in the pliers, but no stripper.

There is a decent assortment of other useful tools:
- a 1 3/4 inch flat blade
- a small nail file
- a large flat screwdriver
- a small flat screwdriver
- a thin Philips screwdriver -- by that I mean that it is not the width of a real Philips screwdriver, but rather just a flat piece of metal that ends in a sort of V so you can use it with a Philips screw
- a tiny set of tweezers
I find some of these a little hard to get out, even after applying some WD-40.

This is an appropriate buy if you are looking for a small tool that gives you a functional set of pliers.

This didn't last all that long; eventually one of the handles gave way and now swings freely so you can't use the pliers.My son carried the thing in his pocket for the better part of a year before it gave out, and he's pretty active; perhaps it was corroded by sweat.In any case, I'd like to take off a star (4=>3) for lack of durability but apparently I can't do that!

The tool is a good quality and once I had it, it took all of 5 minutes to do the job I needed it for. If you need to purchase this tool I would recommend this one as it is sturdy and made of a heavy gage steel.

(More customer reviews)The acrylic head on the bits are too big--if you need this for PC or electronics repair, forget it.The acrylic heads don't help you much because they're so thick--in any spaces smaller than 3", you might as well have a full-size screwdriver, because this fat-headed thing won't fit.Tried drilling and breaking the acrylic, but it's much too strong, and as a result, 15 bucks was wasted on this thing.The finish and construction was decent, but the little rods inside mine that make the ratcheting action started falling out rather quickly in the other uses I had for the tool.Look elsewhere, there are better right-angle tools.
